SURFACE & BLANCHARD GRINDING

Surface grinding is used to produce a smooth finish on flat surfaces. It is a widely used abrasive machining process in which a spinning wheel covered in rough particles (grinding wheel) cuts chips of metallic substance from a work-piece, making a face of it flat, parallel, and/or square. Surface grinding also creates a smooth finish. Blanchard grinding is a similar process that is able to remove stock from material at a higher rate of speed but not as smooth of a finish.

Here at Artisan Grinding, we are flat and parallel experts. We have a variety of surface grinding machines, from small to large, to complete your surface grinding needs. We are able to hold tolerances up to ± .0002", flatness within .0002", and parallel within .0002" - for when precision matters on your parts.

Our surface grinding machinists are highly knowledgeable in their field and can provide a wide range of services. This includes grinding parts such as mold plates, die shoes, rotors, stators, machining beds and tables (including dovetails), way grinding, squares, parallels, and more. We can also sharpen your dies and punches.
